Cold insulation

This work involves ambient temperatures and below. The reasons for insulating cold service items are- energy conservation, cost reduction, personnel protection, process consistency, condensation control or any combination of the above. There are many considerations to take in account when designing and installing these systems. Thermal contraction and cold-tracking are of particular consideration with this field of insulation. Cryogenic applications are particularly unforgiving in nature and require the technical knowledge and experience we provide.

Most cold insulation requires a vapour barrier to prevent moisture from being drawn into the system. This is very important from a hygiene and longevity point of view and requires careful consideration. We have access to and experience in using a variety of mastics and facings to provide a reliable vapour barrier while being the most economical solution.
